To add instance data

Your Building model contains elements which do not have catalog data associated to them. You can add instance data to include them in your reports and schedules.

Select ( Add Instance Data ).
The Add Instance Data dialog opens and the ribbon activates the Add Data > Add Instance Data Options settings tab.
Use the tool settings to select an appropriate catalog type and catalog item with in it.
1. (Optional) Pick the Catalog Type to add to instance.
  This selection populates the Catalog Item menu.
2. Select an appropriate Catalog Item.
The Add Instance Data dialog lists the default properties/values of the selected catalog item.
(Optional) Amend properties for the catalog item instance as needed.
Identify the element you want to the add catalog item data to.
The tool stays active so you can continue adding the catalog item data to more eligible elements.
Select another tool to Reset out of the Add Instance Data tool.
